Veteran educator and Longview Elementary Assistant Principal Kathy Ball has been named Principal of Longview. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement to the Longview faculty and staff today.

“Kathy is a veteran administrator who is passionate about providing the best educational experience for the boys and girls at Longview,” said Looney. “She is a perfect fit for the Longview school community.”

Ball has served as an assistant principal of Longview and Allendale for the past three years.
She will begin her 17th year as a school administrator in 2017-18. During that time, she was an assistant principal and principal in Metro Nashville Public Schools and the head of middle schools at Franklin Road Academy. She taught math in elementary and middle schools for 16 years prior to that time.

“I am grateful, excited and honored to have been selected as the new principal of Longview Elementary School,” said Ball. “While serving as an assistant principal of Longview, I have enjoyed working with the faculty, staff, students, and parents. I look forward to getting to know our families even better and welcoming our students back to school on August 10. It is going to be a great year.”

Ball holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. She is also a Doctoral candidate at Trevecca.
