E&B Coffee, a locally owned coffee shop is opening soon in Nolensville. Owned by Erin and Bethany McAtee, the new caffeine destination will be located at 7311-B Nolensville Road, behind the Painted Dragonfly.

E&B Coffee currently roasts coffee that’s available for purchase online but this will be their first brick and mortar location.

We wanted to learn more about E&B Coffee. Here’s five questions with Erin & Bethany.

When will you open?

If I’ve learned anything up to now, it’s to avoid providing a firm date until we really have a firm date! We’re probably 6 months behind schedule. However, we are starting drywall and interior finishings this week and will have a final health inspection and building inspection before we can open. We hope to open on or by Thanksgiving.

Why did you want to open a coffee shop?

We started E&B Coffee Roasters several years ago in our garage. Our vision was to help people enjoy a great cup of coffee at home as a roast-only operation. But, we have since discovered that our passion is actually helping people have an awesome break in their day – whether at home with our fresh-roasted, organic beans,  or at our shop with our precisely curated drinks. Of course, we will serve great coffee, but we cannot wait to engage with the community as they come hang, enjoy coffee, then get back to life refreshed and relaxed.

What was your inspiration for the name E&B Coffee?

Behind our brand is our family. Early in our coffee journey, I (Erin) was a tech executive for Dave Ramsey for 6 years and my wife (Bethany) was an Emergency Dept. Nurse at Vanderbilt. Like most, our schedules were crazy. But, we enjoyed roasting tiny batches of coffee every weekend and just BEING together over a cup of coffee. As we were discovering and falling in love with specialty coffee, our little family began to grow (now 3 girls under 5). Being the entrepreneurial types, we also felt a strong drive to start and grow a family business where we could teach our kids about life, work, business, and serving people. Since people are so central to our company (both externally – customer experience, and internally – family/team), we named the company after our family. People breathe life into brands, and we breathe life into this one.

If you were a customer at your coffee shop, what would you order?

Seriously the hardest question! I’m sure this answer will change after we open our shop. Our Baristas will be challenged to create seasonal drinks and craft specialty coffee drinks that are sure to beat what we offer now.

Here are our drinks of choice:

Erin – Ethiopian Pour Over and a Cortado
Bethany – Macadamia-Nut-Milk Latte
The McAtee Kids – An Almond Milk Pumpkin Steamer (w/ a shot of decaf coffee if Daddy’s feeling nice)

In just a few words, how would you describe your coffee shop?

A warm, friendly shop where quality is a given and people come first. As for the feel of the shop we would call ourselves modern farmhouse with an industrial spirit.

Thanks Erin and Bethany. E&B Coffee has been offering previews at Mill Creek Brewing, be sure to follow them on Facebook for the latest updates and next preview date.
