Local Students Will Take Part in National Die-In Day

National Die-IN

Local student activists from WilcoStudentsForChange are participating in National Die-In Day, to pay homage to the victims of mass shootings.

The event takes place on June 12th, the second anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, at Legislative Plaza, located at 301 6th Ave N, Nashville.

The “die-in” demonstration lasts for 12 minutes. During the event, participants will lie down for 700 seconds to represent the approximate lives lost due to mass shootings since the Pulse Nightclub Shooting.

As WilcoStudentsForChange member Clay Shubert explains, “Our Die-In aims to commemorate all the lives lost from preventable tragedies since the Pulse Nightclub shooting. The youth are strong and we will not give up. If we do nothing, it’s only a matter of time until we have become the victims”.

WilcoStudentsForChange has invited a local group from Marshall County, Kentucky to help, who are survivors of the Marshall County High School shooting on January 23rd, 2018.

The demonstration will begin at 11am with a rally at 12pm.
