Local SRO & Pre-Teen Publish School Safety Books

SRO Becky Coyle

Two local authors – one a Deputy & SRO for Scales Elementary and the other an 11-year-old boy – are hosting a joint event to celebrate their books, as well as, bring awareness to back-to-school safety.

On Aug 18th at The Purple Butterfly (142 2nd Ave N in downtown Franklin), bring your family to meet Deputy Becky Coyle and Finn Coyle to learn about rescue vehicles, discuss school safety, and enjoy a story time.

The event takes place 9 am-11:30 am and will celebrate the releases of their new books from Flowerpot Press, School Bus Safety (Deputy Becky Coyle) and Rapid Responders (Finn Coyle). This local event is a great chance to prepare kids for another school year with helpful safety reminders and lots of family-friendly fun!

Throughout this exciting free event, attendees will be able to see and learn about a fire rescue truck, police car, and a school bus; discuss safety practices; participate in story times with the authors; receive fun giveaways; enter to win prizes, and purchase the newly released books for $10. All proceeds for book purchases will benefit The Bubba Stevenson Foundation, which has been supporting local families in need for the past 18 years. And after the event, be sure to stop by The Coffee House (at the corner of 2nd and Bridge) for special discounts.

School Bus Safety is the fourth title in Deputy Becky Coyle’s School Safety series. It teaches young readers the important rules to know when riding the bus to school. Through adorable prose and engaging artwork, Becky makes learning safety practices fun!

Finn Coyle’s Rapid Responders is the fourth book in his Finn’s Fun Truck series. The Lift-the-Flap title introduces Finn’s Rapid Responders and their rescue vehicles (including a fire truck, police cruiser, coast guard cutter, and more) and teaches readers a little bit about what they do and what happens when they all work together. The event will bring both books to life with the real vehicles from each title on site for the attendees to explore.
