Child Country Star Makes Comeback on “The Voice”

If one contestant on “The Voice” this week looked familiar, you’re right. Billy Gilman, the former child country star, was a contestant on “The Voice” Tuesday night.

During his blind audition, Gilman sang Adele’s “When We Are Young,” causing all four judges to turn their chairs for a chance to have Gilman on their team.

At age 11, Gilman hit the country charts with the hit single “One Voice.” He was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest singer to ever reach #1 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts. He has sold five million albums worldwide and garnered awards and nods from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, Billboard Magazine, and the American Music Association.

Gilman chose Adam Levine as his coach for “The Voice.” You can watch his audition above download Gilman’s audition song at iTunes which is currently trending close to the top ten songs on iTunes.
