Local Living: 5 Things to Do This Week

1. Push-in Ceremony for Ladder 53 in Brentwood

push in ceremony for ladder 53 brentwood

WHAT: The Brentwood Fire & Rescue Department is officially welcoming their new ladder truck to Fire Station 3, 1750 General George Patton Drive, on Monday. The “push-in” celebration of welcoming a new fire engine has been a source of pride in the fire service for over 200 years. The original of the ceremony dates back to horse-drawn equipment when the horses could not back-up the fire engines and firefighters would unhitch the horses and “push-in” the fire engine after returning from a fire.
