WHAT: This severe weather SKYWARN spotter training class is hosted by the US National Weather Service and is FREE. All ages are welcome! You’ll learn:

  • Basics of thunderstorm development
  • Fundamentals of storm structure
  • Identifying potential severe weather features
  • How to report information
  • Basic severe weather safety

4. Rachel Lipsky at Murff’s Craft Brew & Burgers

WHAT: Rachel Lipsky will perform an acoustic set at Murff’s in Brentwood. Rachel recently won the Nashville Hard Rock Rising Competition but exploded onto the country music scene when she won the Pepsi Southern Original competition. Lipsky has released her debut album “Dancin’ In the Neon” and the music video. Lipsky has a sound that is a unique blend of traditional southern rock and brass knuckles country. Rachel Lipsky has opened for Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett, Tyler Farr, Old Dominion, Hank Williams, Jr. and many more. She has also been invited by Armed Forces Entertainment to perform for American troops overseas multiple times. Lipsky has won IMEA’s Country Female Vocalist Award and was a finalist in UnSigned Only’s International Songwriting Competition for “Ready Set Whiskey.”

5. Romance in the Stars

WHAT: This Valentine’s Day, treat your starry-eyed lover to an out of this world experience! From tales of jealous lovers to stories of forbidden love, Sudekum Planetarium’s ‘Romance in the Stars’ is a celebration of torrid affairs written in the cosmos. With 6.5 million stars and stunning NASA visualizations spread across a 63-foot dome, this show offers (literally) a star-studded date they’ll never forget. Tickets are $12 for members and $18 for non-members. Your ticket purchase includes admission to the show as well as a box of custom-made chocolates from Paul’s Chocolate Gallery in Franklin, TN.
