1. Studio Tenn Presents “Frankenstein”

WHAT: Set to bring Mary Shelly’s original monster Frankenstein to life August 31 through September 9, Studio Tenn kicks off the 2018-2019 season with Tennessee’s newest live adaptation of the Gothic novel, taking the stage at the Factory at Franklin’s Jamison Theater.

One of the most famous novels in literature to date, Frankenstein has remained relevant in popular culture for centuries through various interpretations in film, television, and writing. The second original adaptation by Studio Tenn, Artistic Director Matt Logan re-enlists the brilliant talents of writer A.S. Peterson to bring new understanding to the timeless tale.

2. Shakespeare in the Park

WHAT: The Nashville Shakespeare Festival continues its 30th anniversary season with a celebratory production of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” This magical play, directed by Jaclynn Jutting, explores the duality of love and asks, if we are in love, are we ever in control? The show runs Aug. 9-Sept. 9 in Centennial Park!

Come, bring a blanket or chairs, the whole family (even the dog!), some snacks, or buy from the delicious local food trucks, and enjoy the show!! Shakespeare in the Park has always been FREE, but we encourage a $10 donation to help cover our costs.

Want to see the show like a VIP – or “Royalty?” The buy a Royal Package, which includes reserved parking, a comfy seat (on stage even, if you’re brave!) and a gourmet picnic dinner from Bacon And Caviar Catering – all for just $75!

4. Trivia at Mill Creek Brewing Co.

5. Zoovie Night: Zootopia

WHAT: The Nashville Zoo hostsZoovie Night. Zoovie Night includes games, inflatables, music, crafts and after-hour access to the carousel and zip line! When the sun goes down in the evening, the feature film will play on a large inflatable screen, so pack a blanket and head to the Zoo!
