2. Amanda Parer Exhibit at Cheekwood

WHAT:

Ten of Parer’s glowing, white rabbits will take over the Cheekwood landscape, creating an unparalleled outdoor art experience. Cheekwood will host fun and unique outdoor programming to accompany the exhibition, including.

About the Exhibition: Australian artist Amanda Parer uses her larger-than-life inflatable bunnies to draw attention to the natural world, its fragility and our role within it. In May, Parer’s glowing, white rabbits will take over the Cheekwood landscape. Though intentionally cute and seemingly innocent, these figures also represent the global conversation surrounding invasive species and their ability to alter natural habitats. The 18th-century introduction of European rabbits to Parer’s native Australia resulted in a rapidly escalating continent-wide epidemic that persists today. Through these precocious bunnies, visitors experience captivating works of art as well as engage in an ecological dialogue.

3. CASA of Williamson Co Voices for Children

WHAT: Williamson County CASA is a 501 (c) (3) that makes a direct impact on the lives of children in this community. Their mission is to advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system, and they work daily with a vision to ensure that every child is placed in a safe and permanent home. Volunteers invest countless hours in the lives of abused and neglected children of our county, understanding their individual needs and advocating for their best interests— last year serving 556 children in Williamson County – effectively changing the future of those children and our entire community.

CASA is funded largely through their annual “Voices for Children” event. All proceeds raised from this evening directly benefit the children that they serve—which means that you are immediately helping make a difference in the lives of the young faces we see every day. And 100% of that money stays right here in our local community. Come enjoy cocktails and dinner alongside a silent and live auction at the Barn at Sycamore Farms.
