1. Andrew Marshall Dorff Memorial Benefit Concert

WHAT: The Inaugural Andrew Marshall Dorff Memorial Benefit Concert will celebrate the amazing songs of Andrew Dorff, an acclaimed songwriter who’s had over 70 songs cut with 5 No. 1 hits, on October 2 at 7:30 pm at the Franklin Theatre. 

Confirmed to perform are artists and songwriters Hunter Hayes, Jeffrey Steele, Lori McKenna, Levi Hummon, Jonathan Singleton, Frank Ray, Rodney Clawson, Tom Douglas, Mark Irwin, and Tommy Lee James. All proceeds will benefit pediatric oncology initiatives at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, the principal beneficiary of The Andrew Marshal Dorff Memorial Fund. 3. Florence and the Machine: The High as Hope Tour

WHAT: Florence + the Machine with special guest Billie Eilish comes to Bridgestone this week. “High as Hope” was released June 29. The tour, which is produced by Live Nation, launched August 5 in Montreal. Support acts at various dates include St. Vincent, Kamasi Washington, Billie Eilish, Beth Ditto, Grizzly Bear, Perfume Genius and Wet. “High as Hope” was entirely written by frontwoman Florence Welch, and marked her first time co-producing (alongside Emile Haynie) one of her band’s albums.

4. Tennessee State Museum Grand Opening

WHAT: The Tennessee State Museum is scheduled to open to the public on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at its new location on the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and Jefferson Street at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Grand opening events will take place throughout the weekend. Special hours for the Opening: Thursday, Oct. 4: 1:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7: 1 – 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Columbus Day Holiday)
