Zenagen Hair Care, a Franklin-based company that has produced shampoo-based therapies to target thinning hair, was named one of five finalists in the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) inaugural Beauty Pitch.

The Beauty Pitch offers both emerging and established companies the opportunity to present their brand, products or ideas to a panel of top investors. This year’s panel is comprised of Mark Cuban, entrepreneur & owner of Dallas Mavericks (also known as one of the “sharks” on Shark Tank); John Paul DeJoria, CEO & Co-Founder of John Mitchell Systems and Co-founder of Patron Tequila and Spirits; Melissa Goldstein, Beauty & Lifestyle Director of Martha Stewart Living & Martha Stewart Weddings and Neil Parmar, Journalist for INC.com.

Contestants will be vying for a one-year mentorship from Mark Cuban and possible private equity funding.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to present our product and our business to some of the greatest investors in the world, and we’re interested to see what the other finalists bring to the table,” said Jared Reynolds, founder of ZENAGEN. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support Nashville has given us and we’re grateful that we have such a strong supportive entrepreneurial culture in our city.”

Finalists were selected by a panel of judges consisting of industry professionals, program hosts and investors, including Daniela Ciocan of Cosmoprof North America, Charu Siri of the Wall Street Journal & CNN and Steve Sleeper, executive director of PBA.

The pitch competition will be July 12 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Visit beautypitch.com for more information.
