American Idol auditions will begin shortly but this year, instead of Keith Urban, Idol has tapped another country artist to judge. According to Variety, Luke Bryan will join Katy Perry as a judge for the new American Idol to air on ABC.
While it has not been confirmed who will be the third judge, speculations were at one point pointing to Lionel Richie, Charlie Puth, and possibly a return of Keith Urban.
Ryan Seacrest did confirm his return as the host of American Idol earlier this year. Seacrest stated during the iHeartRadio Festival that fans can expect more news on the show soon.
Luke Bryan, who has released five albums since 2007, has seen his last three releases debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Album charts.
Over the weekend, Luke Bryan coordinated with the Houston area authorities to make tickets available to members of Hurricane Harvey’s first responder teams to attend his Houston, Texas concert that took place on Friday, September 22 at Cynthia Woods Pavilion. Luke donated concert proceeds to benefit the Houston Community Fund. The Farm Tour 2017 will kick-off on September 28 with six dates with special guest Jon Pardi, learn more here.
