About 55 South
Local Chef and owner of 55 South, Jason McConnell, strives to bring the flavors of Highway 55, the highway that connects New Orleans and Memphis, to his restaurant. Hence, the name.

McConnell is the owner of three restaurants on Main Street in downtown Franklin- 55 South, Red Pony, and Cork & Cow. McConnell opened his first restaurant, Red Pony, back in 2006, eventually expanding to include 55 South, Cork & Cow and an event space called McConnell House, which sits next door to the Old, Old Jail now the home of the Heritage Foundation.
