Local Builders Win Prestigious Award

Local builders Carbine & Associates were recognized with two awards for a home they built in the Kings’ Chapel community for retired SSGT Luke Van Dorston as part of their Operation FINALLY Home (OFH) build.

Carbine & Associates earned a Judge’s Special Award of Excellence and a silver award for this home from The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC).

The Nationals salutes and honors the best in the building industry for their determination, integrity, creativity and endurance.

Carbine’s OFH work was one of four OFH builds in the country honored and the only one in the Tennessee to earn this distinction said company president James Carbine.

“As long-time community volunteers, custom builders and supporters of the military, we were honored to donate our building services for the over year-long project. Partner and Vice President of Operations Daryl Walny along with our estimator, Kim Dykes, helped marshal donations of time, services and products to make this build possible which included the support of LP Building Products ,” Carbine said. “We were honored to help this nonprofit which assists wounded and disabled veterans and widows of fallen soldiers with new custom-built, mortgage-free homes and are proud to now call the Van Dorstons friends.”

The Nationals are the most prestigious awards of their kind, setting the benchmark for innovations in new home design, marketing and sales said Christy Beck, chairperson of the Nationals.

“NAHB’s commitment to recognizing originality, imagination and success has been exemplified by its award winners since the competition’s inception,” Beck said.

Started in 1982 as the Institute of Residential Marketing, The Nationals award program continues to recognize superior new home sales and marketing achievements.  With 57 categories across various disciplines of the new home industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements by individuals and sales teams.

During a three-day judging process, a panel of 7 industry professionals from across the country determined the Silver and Gold award winners from a field of over 1,300 entries.
