Studio Tenn is continuing the classics this year with a fresh lineup to complete the 18/19 season. Kicking off 2019, Studio Tenn presents the compelling story of a friendship with Always… Patsy Cline, set to appear live on stage at The Factory in Franklin’s Jamison Theater, February 8-24.

Created and originally directed by Ted Swindley, Always… Patsy Cline struck a chord with audiences in 1988 and soon became a huge sensation across the nation, eventually appearing on the stage at the “Mother Church of Country Music,” the Ryman Auditorium.

We wanted to bring a production to audiences that we knew would resonate with them,” said Benji Kern, Studio Tenn’s Interim Artistic Director. “This show has such a rich history around the world and is the perfect combination of charm, humor, and heartfelt Patsy Cline ballads that our audiences are sure to love.

Based on the true events, Always… Patsy Cline is a captivating, two-person musical covering the lifelong friendship of Patsy Cline and Louise Seger.

Megan Murphy Chambers, who will be embracing the challenge of embodying the character of Patsy Cline, commented on her upcoming role as the country music legend.

“I can’t wait to get started and step into the shoes of a woman I’ve admired since I first heard her records as a child,” Chambers said. “I’ve been listening to her music constantly and hunting up televised performance footage from her all-too-brief career. She’s charming, inspiring, and of course, breathtakingly talented. She was a spitfire, a powerhouse and a trailblazer, and absolutely someone I wish I could be friends with!”

Chambers went on to mention her excitement to be taking the stage with her real-life friend, Melodie Madden Adams, who stars in the role of Louise Seger, and how portraying a friendship like Louise and Patsy’s with a real-life best friend is a gift.

“Melodie is brilliant, hilarious, and generous on stage, and the most supportive and fun woman in the world to boot. Our audiences are going to fall in love with her completely!”

Audiences can revel in a night of Cline’s most beloved hits such as “Anytime,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “She’s Got You,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Crazy,” from February 8 – 24 at the Jamison Theatre in the Factory at Franklin.
