A Reading of Eudora Welty’s “Why I Live at the P.O.”
Saturday, Oct. 18th
2 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. please join Music City’s Lanie Shannon for a dramatic reading of one of Eudora Welty’s funniest short stories “Why I Live at the P.O.”  Written in the first person, it is not just a short story, it’s also a monologue – and a wonderful vehicle for an actress.

The reading synchs with another opportunity for Nashville to become familiar with this great Southern writer, as The Nashville Public Library currently boasts an amazing exhibition of Welty’s photographs of her fellow Mississippians.  Welty had a great passion for people, and these two events showcase her work and contributions.  “Why I Live at the P.O.” is perfect for all ages. So are Ms. Welty’s photographs.

For more information, contact Jaz Dorsey of The Actors Reading Room at 615-915-0891.
