Andra Watkins talks about walking the Natchez Trace in her new book Not Without My Father
Wed, Jan. 14, 6:30 pm
Andra Watkins will be talking about her new book Not Without My Father: one woman’s 444-mile walk of the Natchez Trace.  Reminiscent of A Walk in the Woods(by Bill Bryson), Andra asked for volunteers to walk the Natchez Trace with her.  No one took her up on the adventure of a lifetime.  She finally convinced her 80-year-old father to walk with her, since she needed someone to go with her.   But he had issues: he took his CPAP machine with him and he had other health problems.  But he had a car and gas.   She also hoped to reconnect with her father after many years.  They walked from March 1, 2014 to April 3, 2014, fifteen miles a day. Six days a week, with one rest day per week. This is her account of this 444 mile walk.At the Brentwood Library

Essential Oils Class
Mon, Jan 5th
6p-7:30p

Essential Oils have been a well-documented part of history for health, wellness, and beauty. People for centuries have used them in conjunction with modern medicine and holistic practices. Learn about essential oils in a fun and informative series focused on education on the science of essential oils, how they interact with the body on a cellular level, and for what purposes they can help accompany existing practices for health and wellness. While essential oils are not intended to treat or cure any particular condition, they can be an effective supplement to add to family’s existing practices.
