Introduction to Ancestry.com

Did you know you can access the very powerful and popular genealogy website, Ancestry.com, free with a WCPL card within the library? This introductory class will show you the basics of using Ancestry.com to search through census records, death certificates, family trees, and more to find your ancestors; as well as a few tips and tricks to help get more accurate results from your searches!  Basic computer skills such as using a mouse and keyboard are required.

Passport to the World-Brazil

Travel to Brazil with Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County’s “Passport to the World” series, featuring Brazil. This is a great event for the entire family. The meeting room of the Library will be transformed into Brazil, where you will experience the culture, food, music, and dance of this exciting country.  Presented by Maria Paula Machado Mello and friends.

Free CPR Class
Wednesday, May 21st

Be prepared with a free CPR class offered by the Franklin Fire Department. The class will provide instruction on adult Hands-Only CPR, child and infant CPR, AED use and relief of choking. The course is non-credentialed, meaning no course card will be awarded upon completion.  Registration is not necessary.  However, if you have questions, please contact the Franklin Fire Department at (615) 791-3270.

READing Paws Dogs

Come read to specially trained and certified reading assistance dogs. Reading to these dogs is proven to increase a child’s reading skills.

Summer Reading Programs
Mark your calendar for the upcoming Summer Reading Program sign-ups at your local library. This summer’s reading program called ‘Fizz, Boom, Read!’ will inspire kids to read all summer long and includes lots of fun activities, special guests and more.

Registration for the Brentwood Summer Reading Program will be May 16th. Brentwood offers Summer Reading programs for children, teens and even adults.

Sign up this Saturday, May 17th at the Bethesda Branch from 10a to 2p and the Leiper’s Fork Branch (ice-cream kick off!) at 1p
