The Williamson County Parks and Recreation department has organized a Pickleball league to be held at the Franklin Recreation Center on Thursday nights from 6-9 p.m. From August 29th to October 10th, a league of 24 players will take to the court to see who is the best at slinging pickles.
Not real pickles, mind you, it is just the name of the back yard game that has turned into a national sport. Pickleball resembles tennis but uses a hard paddle, a lighter ball, smaller court and lower net. Also the ball is served underhanded. Find out more or join the fun by contacting Ann Marie at (615) 370-3471, ext. 2113 or [email protected]. Cost for playing is only $30 and basic equipment is available on site.
