Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade Rescheduled

Leiper's Fork Parade

Thursday afternoon, Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade organizers announced the parade would be delayed a week. The following announcement was made on Facebook:

Well, we can’t delay this any longer. Unfortunately we are going to postpone the Parade until next Saturday, Dec. 15th. We hope you will all understand that we do not take this decision lightly and we are just wanting everyone to have a good time, but most importantly for everyone to be safe! SO, that being said, see y’all next weekend!!!”

A second post shared that all of the stores will be open. JJ Jones in his Human Globe will be performing at the Leiper’s Creek Gallery at 2 p.

Originally, the self-titled “Almost Famous Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade” was scheduled for  Saturday, December 8th at 2pm.  From the hilarious and wacky, the parade is one not to miss. This year, the Grand Marshal for the parade is John Schneider aka “Bo Duke” from the Dukes of Hazzard. And if you’ve ever visited Leiper’s Fork, you will know there’s a General Lee car that greets you as you enter the village. We are curious to know if John Schneider will actually use that as his official car in the parade.

On the parade’s Facebook page, it shares what you can expect. “The Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade is the wackiest parade in this area! We have tractors, old cars & trucks, beautiful floats, cute floats, wacky floats, people dressed in crazy costumes, pigs, dogs, horses, donkeys, mules, horse & buggies, chuck wagons, horse drawn wagons & of course……………. SANTA!!”

You and your family don’t want to miss this and plan lots of time to get there and for parking. Parade starts promptly at 2 p. Watch our video from last year for a taste of the most fun holiday event around.
