‘The Lego Movie’: Everything is Awesome

The Lego Movie

Not only is the title song of ‘The Lego Movie’ a catchy, techy number called ‘Everything is Awesome,’ the movie truly is just that—awesome from beginning to end.

Hollywood stars must have known ‘The Lego Movie’ would be a charming movie, because it’s full of notable actors like: Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Charlie Day, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Jonah Hill, Liam Neeson and the list goes on.

If you’re an adult, you may dreading taking your children to the latest animated movie. ‘The Lego Movie’ is a different experience– it’s a wonderful movie for both children and adults. Parents will laugh at this movie just as much as their children do.

‘The Lego Movie’ is simply a fun, clever, outside-of-the-box animation, with a good message.

Emmet (Chris Pratt), the Legoman protagonist, lives a hum drum life, following the rules set out by President Business (Will Ferrell). Bless his heart, Emmet tries to be positive but it’s obvious he’s a very unhappy Legoman. That is, until he stumbles upon ‘the piece of resistance,’ a Lego piece meant to save his Lego universe (or so says an age old prophecy told in the deep, wise voice of Morgan Freeman).

Emmet finds himself on a journey with a tough Legolady named Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), traveling through vast Lego universes, where he encounters new friends who show him how special he is.

While being funny, silly and sometimes outright outrageous, ‘The Lego Movie’ has a sweet message that every child should hear—everyone has talent and everyone is special just as they are.

If you’re looking for something fun to do with your children this Valentine’s weekend, take them to see ‘The Lego Movie.’
