Learn About ‘Authentic Williamson’ at Women in Business Luncheon

Tourism is big business in Williamson, and attendees at the Chamber’s Women in Business luncheon on Feb. 26 will learn more from the woman in charge about why visitors love to spend time – and cash – in the county.

Ellie Westman Chin has been at the helm of the Williamson County Convention and Visitors Bureau for less than a year, but she brings two decades of experience in marketing and event management to her position as president and chief executive officer. Before taking the Williamson post she served as vice president for philanthropy for The Women’s Foundation of Colorado. Prior to that, she did business development and event management for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.

And in her work with the Nashville CVB in the 1990s, Westman Chin helped establish the Nashville Sports Council and then assisted in the efforts to woo an NFL and NHL teams to town.

The new tourism executive sees her role as three-fold: raising awareness of Williamson County as a world-class travel destination, growing visitor spending to increase its economic impact and working with local officials to continue to develop the county’s unique attractions and experiences.

The Women in Business luncheon, on Thursday this month, will be held at the Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Road, with CareCore-MedSolutions as the presenting sponsor. The luncheon costs $22 for members and $30 for non-members, who may register as guests. Sign up before noon on Feb. 23 to avoid the $5 late fee.

Networking and late in-person registration is from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., when the program will begin. Learn more and save your space at williamsonchamber.com.
