Knights Classic Golf Tournament Slated for April 16 at Westhaven Golf Club

Franklin Classical School is celebrating its 25th anniversary this spring with several events, beginning with the Knights Classic Golf Tournament. Slated for a noon start, April 16 at Westhaven Golf Club, the event is a fundraiser for FCS Knights athletics and is open to the public.

Cost for a single player is $125, with a foursome priced at $500, which includes 18 holes of golf, a boxed lunch, and participation gifts. Everyone has the opportunity to win prizes which include a $500 Visa gift card, a 50-inch television, and a set of Callaway Golf X Series 416 Irons, while one golfer could win a car valued at up to $30,000 sponsored by Global Motorsports, Inc. of Cool Springs. Golfers may register online at http://franklinclassical.com/knights-classic-golf-fundraiser/. The Knights Classic Golf Tournament will raise funds for the athletic program to help cover the costs of team uniforms, rented practice fields and game facilities, and financial support for students who would otherwise be unable to participate.

“Our own Franklin Classical Knights have just started their spring season for middle and high school,” says Tom Carson, FCS golf coach and Natural Philosophy (Math and Science) Department Head, who has penned three mathematics textbooks published by Pearson. “Our student golfers are excited to hit the links with all of the school supporters from the community and share with them the difference that Franklin Classical has made in their lives—and of course, play a fun afternoon of golf.”

Franklin Classical School (FCS) was originally formed as a one-course, home-school supplement by Dr. George Grant, and in 25 years has grown to a full K-12 college preparatory school located in downtown historic Franklin with over 150 students. FCS also offers an umbrella school for over 700 home school students through The Comenius School (TCS). Over 100 FCS and TCS students participate in Knights Athletics, which offers nine sports—volleyball, golf, basketball, baseball, football, tennis, archery, cross country and soccer.

Located at 408 Church Street in downtown historic Franklin, TN, Franklin Classical School is a K-12 school with the goal of raising up leaders who will serve and impact our local community, and ultimately, the world.
