Kenneth Eaton: Top 5 Things I Want to Accomplish as County Mayor

Kenneth Eaton Lets Make A Change

I’m Kenneth Eaton and I’m running for County Mayor. I’m proud to be a resident of Williamson County and I have a lot of ideas on how to help Williamson County continue to be one of the best counties to live in. These are five goals I will work hard to achieve if elected as your next county mayor.

Today is the last day to participate in early voting. Click here to see early voting locations. Election Day is May 1. Don’t forget to vote!

1. Collect TN Basic Education Plan money
I want our schools to continue to be the best schools in the area so one of my biggest and most important goals is to collect the $70 million a year our county is owed from the TN Basic Education Plan (BEP).

2.Build & Upgrade Current Schools to be State of the Art
In line with my first point, I want our children to have the best resources so they can graduate with confidence and go out into the world with a great education in their back pocket. This means we need fantastic schools to help our students grow. It’s imperative that we hone in on upgrading current schools to meet the demand of our students and to continue to build new schools to handle the population influx the county has experienced.

3.Implement “Smart Growth Plan”
Williamson County is exploding – new businesses are opening every day, new communities and developments are constantly on the horizon. Growth is good, but we must grow smart, so it’s vital that we have the infrastructure in place for all approved projects.

4.Clean Up the Budget
I will dissect the budget line by line to determine any wasteful spending and put savings into upgrading departments, infrastructure and schools. Part of cleaning up the budget involves insuring a competitive, fair and equitable bidding process for county projects.

5.Maintain our Historical Heritage
Like you, one of the many traits that drew me to Williamson County was its historic charm. The county is seeing a lot of growth and change right now, but it is possible to maintain our historical heritage while evolving. I want to make sure Williamson County continues to be the place we love to call home.
