This summer, country star sensation and Franklin native, Kelsea Ballerini, will co-host a six-week variety show on ABC called “Greatest Hits.” Alongside Ballerini on stage is Arsenio Hall.
“Greatest Hits” is a new music series featuring hit-makers of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Each episode will highlight a five-year period celebrating the biggest hits from that time, The first episode premiered June 30th and featured hit songs from 1980-1985 and included a tribute to Michael Jackson, performed by Jason Derulo, a duet between REO Speedwagon and Pitbull, and a timely Ghostbusters performance by Ray Parker, Jr.
According to tvline.com, 4.9 million viewers tuned into the first episode, placing it second in that time slot, behind “Big Brother” and giving ABC their best summer numbers since August 2014.

Kelsea Ballerini is having a fabulous year and this network TV gig will further catapult her stardom. Kelsea is the first solo female artist in 15 years to hit #1 with her first two country singles and one of only 11 women to have ever hit the top of the charts with a debut.
Her third single, “Peter Pan,” is currently flying up the country radio charts. She has been named “The Country Sweetheart” in People Magazine’s elite “Ones to Watch” portfolio, touted by Billboard Magazine as “Country’s Next Queen,” praised by Rolling Stone as the “Nashville It Girl” and selected as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country.
She has shared the stage with Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, and is currently opening for Rascal Flatts. Ballerini has recently announced that she will headline her own tour soon and that she is recording her second album. Big things are in the works for Ballerini.
Ballerini was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and moved to Franklin when she was a teenager to pursue country music. She attended Centennial High School. When she was 19, Ballerini signed a publishing deal with Black River Publishing and a recording deal with Black River Entertainment and debuted her first single, “Love Me Like You Mean It” later that year.
