Kelly Spalding Hosts Pink Party Thursday

Chemo Relief Kit from Kelly Spalding Designs

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the public is invited to Kelly Spalding Designs in Franklin for a Pink Party on Thursday, October 11 from 4 p – 8 p.

Patrons can shop for a cause Thursday afternoon and evening with all proceeds benefiting the Breast Health Center at Williamson Medical Center. Chemo relief kits will also be available for purchase, and Pink Gala Founder Kelly Spalding says the shop will donate a kit to a woman fighting breast cancer for each kit purchased by the public.

The chemo relief kits include items such as Shea cream, cuticle balm and Clover’s Lip Smack, all made by hand with all-natural ingredients at 1818 Farms. Spalding says chemotherapy causes the skin and lips to become dry and itchy, and nails to be more sensitive.

Each year, Pink Party is a kick-off event for The Pink Gala which takes place on New Year’s Eve but due to increase cost of production, the event will not be held this year. A message was posted on The Pink Gala Facebook page.

We raised almost $10,000 last year and are so thankful for all of your support!

NYE is on a Monday this year and that increases our cost of production for the event considerably so we have decided to raise funds in October instead. It is important to us to donate as much money as we can to the charity and felt the increased cost was prohibitive to that goal. We will be posting our events and fundraisers for next month so stay tuned!

We have some exciting things coming in 2019 and hope you continue to support The Pink Gala and the women we help.

Kelly Spalding Designs is located at 915 Columbia Avenue in downtown Franklin.
