June is Great Outdoors Month Series Part 4
Another great way to spend a day, lunch or afternoon is at the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Recreational Center on Old Hillsboro Road. The facility has a Community Center open to the public Monday – Friday 7 a.m.-10 a.m. and 5 p.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday 8-11 a.m.
The building has a gym, meeting room, and classrooms available for use. Outside they offer a lovely walking trail to help you continue to enjoy the great outdoors this summer. A playground and pavilion are available to the children as are youth baseball fields. The complex offers athletics for adults and children, arts and crafts classes, a fitness center and health and wellness classes.
You may pay per visit to the complex or enjoy the outdoors for free. Picnic spots are abundant and open fields for flying kites, playing Frisbee or throwing a ball are at your disposal. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor.
