July 4th Festivities Await

As always Franklin is hosting a downtown celebration on the 4th of July for everyone in Williamson County. Starting at 10 a.m. the streets are close to traffic and music, food and community collide for a celebration of freedom. The Kid’s Zone will be in full effect, the traditional children’s parade will be held at 5 p.m., with prizes for best costume, decorated bikes and wagons and more.

Check out the timeline below and prepare for a frolicking good time.

10:00 a.m.   Festival Opens, Bluegrass Music on the Main Stage with The Hinckley Brothers
11:30 a.m.   Tommy Jackson’s “Rocky Top Review”
1:00 p.m.    The Boxtops
2:30 p.m.   “HanaLena” Bluegrass Band
4:00 p.m.   The Zinghopper’s Children’s Show Performs.
4:45 p.m.   Begin Line-up for the Children’s parade around the square
5:00 p.m.   Children’s parade begins with the Zinghopper’s and Dixieland band.
5:15 p.m.   Dixieland Band on the Stage
6:15 p.m.   Speech’s, Recognitions, Presenting of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Star Spangled Banner
6:30 p.m.   The Featured Band of the Evening: “The Devonshire’s”
8:00 p.m.   The Devonshire’s stop playing, and the audience positions themselves to see the fireworks. 8:30 p.m. Festival Ends

The Park at Harlinsdale will open at 6 p.m. to provide special viewing for the fireworks spectacular. Bring lawn chairs and blankets as WAKM and the City of Franklin sponsor the show. The fireworks should begin around 9 p.m., giving festival goers a chance to drive down from the square’s festivities.
