Join the ShowerUp Launch Party

ShowerUp, a local non-profit, is launching Nashville’s mobile shower truck to serve the city’s homeless community. There will be a Launch Party on April 22nd at The Well Coffeehouse, 690 Old Hickory Boulevard, Brentwood, TN from 6:30 pm- 9 pm. It will be the public’s first look at the mobile shower truck. The mobile shower truck has three separate/private shower units and will be going to various locations around the city to serve the community.

Williamson County resident and Executive Director, Paul Schmitz, says, “The mission of ShowerUp is to build relationships, restore hope and dignity, and show the love of God with those in need by providing them with shower services and personal care. This is also an avenue for volunteers, corporate groups, church groups, the community, and others to participate in something that not only fulfills a basic human need but also provides the opportunity for meaningful, supportive engagement.” ShowerUp will help to meet the hygiene and personal care needs of Nashville’s 2000-3000 homeless, many of whom are living on the street and in tents.

ShowerUp is truly a community-supported effort. A recent study revealed that our homeless population has risen by 10% and Nashville leads the nation with 2 out of every 5 homeless citizens classified as “chronically homeless” due to health issues and long-term homelessness. ShowerUp believes we can make a difference by cooperatively working with: The City of Nashville, Other Non-Profits, Grassroots teams, Corporate Partnerships, Volunteers, and Donors. Corporate sponsors include  Lee Company, Dorco USA, Ferguson, Rinnai, and AmeriGas. ShowerUp provides mobile shower truck services and personal care for Nashville’s homeless. The ShowerUp Launch Party is on April 22nd from 6:30pm-9pm at The Well Coffeehouse, 690 Old Hickory, Brentwood, TN. The mobile shower truck will be available for viewing. There will also be a silent auction, small bites, The Well beverages, a photo booth and more. This event will be an organizational update and fundraiser.
