Contractors are scheduled to replace a large culvert under Johnson Chapel at Deerwood Lane beginning Monday, June 18. The road will be closed for the duration of the repairs, which could take up to one full week. The culvert is in poor shape and crews will be working to replace it.
Public Works Director, Todd Hoppenstedt, explained, “We have discussed the possibility of plating the road cut overnight, in an effort to reopen the road each evening. However, the width of the trench combined with the tight schedule makes that option more difficult and time consuming.”
Detour signs will be posted instructing vehicular traffic to avoid the closure by using Murray Lane and Granny White Pike.
