Here’s your chance to purchase a celebrity home in Franklin. Country music star, Jo Dee Messina is listing her Franklin home, located at 1207 Perkins Lane in the Montpier Farms subdivision.
This seasoned beauty offers as much living space outside as inside. A petite iron gate and flagstone path lead to the broad covered front porch that beckons guests to “come and sit a spell.” The hospitable home sports a fabulous screened-in porch with brick floor, outdoor burbling fountain, spacious patio and a spectacular carriage house with unlimited possibilities – from auto restoration, recording or craft studio, to workshop or man cave/she shed! Or get crazy and turn it into an apartment. Yours to fill in the blank!
When Jo Dee moved into the Montpier Farms home a couple years ago, she invited fans to shop her home goods, as she was downsizing. This time she will not be having an estate sale and she assured us she’s not leaving Williamson County.
“I’m not sure where I will be moving but I’m definitely staying in Williamson County, that’s where my kids go to school and where my church is located,” she said.
In describing why she fell in love with the home, Jo Dee tells us she grew up in the New England area and the Cape Cod style of the home brings back memories.
“It’s so charming and beautiful, there was a lot of love in renovating the home from the folks before me,” says Jo Dee, “It’s a gorgeous home for children with a large front porch that you can sit and watch the lightning bugs at night and you might even see a few deer.”
The home sits on 1.4 acres with what Jo Dee says is “country living with the amenities of a neighborhood.”
In addition to the main home, there’s a barn on the property that could be used as an art studio, music studio, or workshop.
In December 2016, Jo Dee even featured her living room on the cover for a Christmas single. When she recorded the Christmas song NOEL, she needed to shoot a cover. Jo Dee says, “I wanted the picture on the single to be intimate and not some big flashy setup, so we decided to shoot it right in the living room of the home. It was perfect.”
One last thing Jo Dee mentioned about the home; it has a tornado shelter. “And you never know when you might need that in Tennessee,” said Jo Dee.
Other features of the home include:
- 4 Bedrooms
- 3 Bathrooms
- Farm kitchen with soapstone counters
- Custom pewter glazed painted cabinets
- 5 burner Bosch propane gas stove
- Hardwood floors throughout the home
- Woodburning fireplace
- Built-in banquette seating in the kitchen
