JJ’s Announces New Head Chef

JJ's Wine Bar

JJ’s Wine Bar has announced that Jenny Barnhill will join their team as the new head chef.

Jenny’s culinary inspirations come from many sources—from Japan to Russia to Mexico, in addition to traditional Southern and Chesapeake cuisine. Her culinary background is largely in catering, where she focused on small bites with a creative palate.

“I’m happiest to have the freedom to try new things—taking flavor profiles from one cuisine and applying them to a traditional dish from another cuisine, like my signature sesame-crusted wasabi crab cakes. The food has to pair well with the wines, so the flavors support each other and help bring out qualities that might otherwise go unnoticed,” Jenny said.

Jenny will share some of her favorite dishes, including the aforementioned crab cakes, at JJ’s next Wine & Dine event on Monday, March 31st.  This event is a four course Asian inspired dinner with wine pairings. The menu includes: Sesame Crusted Wasabi Crabcakes, Asian Style Crunchy Slaw Dressed in Sweet & Spicy Ginger-Lime Vinaigrette, Mandarin Orange Chicken-Served Over Cocnut Rice with Snow Peas and Plum Granita & Almond Cookies for dessert.

Make your reservation today for next Monday’s Wine & Dine Event by calling 615-942-5033. Cost is $35 per person.

JJ’s is located at 206 E. Main St in downtown Franklin.
