On Saturday, February 3rd, all Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams scoop shops are opening their doors three hours early for its annual Ice Cream for Breakfast Day fundraiser. Jeni’s will donate 50% of all sales made from the hours of 9am to 12pm to a nonprofit close to founder and chief creative officer Jeni Britton Bauer’s heart: She Should Run. The money will be used to help She Should Run carry out its mission to get 250,000 women to run for elected office by 2030.

Fans of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and/or She Should Run who do not live near a scoop shop can do their part, too. The company is releasing two “Ice Cream for Breakfast Day” online collections featuring six or nine of their seasonal pints delivered straight to your doorstep. (Available at jenis.com, from January 19th to February 3rd, with 50% of sales going directly to She Should Run.)

“I’ve always made ice creams that bring people together and foster community. So it’s especially meaningful for us as a company to take that a step further and contribute what we do best to a greater movement, which She Should Run is helping lead,” says Jeni Britton Bauer. “If we can use something as lighthearted as a day about eating ice cream for breakfast to help She Should Run continue unleashing the fierce leadership potential in all women, well, then, I think we’re doing right by our mission.”

Founded in 2011, She Should Run is a non-partisan 501(c)3 that empowers women of all political leanings, ethnicities, and backgrounds to lead in elected office, with the foundational belief that our democracy will benefit from the perspectives, experiences, and strong voices women bring to leadership.

“Jeni’s has built a successful business on bringing people together and we couldn’t be happier that they are marshalling their time and energy to support She Should Run and the many women who are intending to run for office,” said Erin Loos Cutraro, founder and CEO of She Should Run. “Just as important as the support, is Jeni’s commitment to spreading the message about 250KBy2030. To reach our goal, we will need women from around the country to recognize what they have to offer and throw their hats into the electoral ring. Jeni’s is helping us do that.”

About Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams was founded in 2002 by James Beard Award-winning cookbook author Jeni Britton Bauer. Jeni’s ahead-of-the-trend vision—using whole ingredients and dairy from grass-pastured cows, rather than synthetic flavorings and commodity ice cream mix—coupled with inspired flavors, sparked the artisan ice cream movement more than a decade before it would become a top food trend. Today, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is a Certified B Corporation with 32 scoop shops, more than 800 employees, an online shop at jenis.com, and distribution in top grocery stores across the country.
