An investigation into a reported threat at a Williamson County middle school found no danger to students or staff, according to school officials and law enforcement, WSMV reports.

Page Middle School Principal Dr. Eric Lifsey notified families that an anonymous threat was reported on social media Monday evening, prompting an immediate response from administrators and law enforcement.

Authorities determined the threat was not credible and believe it originated from someone outside of Tennessee. Officials said there is no current risk to the school community.

According to investigators, the message involved a claim about a potential shooting and was shared on TikTok while communicating with students. Detectives with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Department of Homeland Security, are working to identify the individual responsible and are pursuing a subpoena for account information.

School officials emphasized that any messages intended to cause fear or suggest violence are taken seriously and will be fully investigated. They added that those responsible for making threats can face serious legal consequences.

Families were encouraged to continue reporting anything concerning, as officials say quick reporting plays a key role in keeping schools safe.
