Ravenwood ends its regular season with the top seed in 6A Region 6 after a 22-13 triumph over Independence on a rainy Friday, in a game played at Ravenwood.

Independence’s Troy Henderson (25 carries, 207 yards) put the Eagles up 13-10 in the fourth quarter with a 90-yard rushing touchdown.

But the Eagles missed the point-after, and Ravenwood took the lead with Nick Stallcup’s 35-yard scoring run.

Jordan Smith’s 36-yard TD scamper late in the game provided the final margin.

Ravenwood’s Parker Nash accounted for the game’s first touchdown, recovering a teammate’s fumble in the end zone. Kicker Sam French made it 7-0 with the point after.

Independence’s T.J. Sheffield (eight rushes, 31 yards) counted with a 5-yard scoring run, with Kyle Greenwell’s point-after tying the contest.

French’s 35-yard field goal gave the Raptors a 10-7 lead with a field goal on the half’s last play.

Ravenwood’s Cole Carteaux had a first-half interception.

Both teams will play a 6A Region 5 opponent in next week’s playoffs. Independence travels to Smyrna, while Ravenwood hosts LaVergne.
