Ideas For Pumpkin Decorating & Carving

October brings many activities and traditions–cooler days, football and picking out the perfect pumpkin for carving. Perfection is definitely in the eye of the beholder as we let our kids pick their pumpkins each year from some of our favorite pumpkin patches in Williamson County. I could give you tips on looking for a pumpkin with fewer ridges making it easier to carve, try to find one that stands up straighter–these are important when looking for that magazine worthy pumpkin. However, for our kids it is a tradition to pick their own pumpkin and perfection has nothing to do with rules but what appeals to their senses in that one moment before purchase.

Often the October weather can be iffy, causing carved pumpkins to mold quickly,  so we tried out a few no-carve pumpkin decorating options this year.
