Ice Bruins Show Well in Nationals

The Brentwood Ice Bruins represented Tennessee well in the 2015 Toyota-USA Hockey National Championship.

Brentwood advanced past pool play, but was ultimately eliminated Sunday at the hands of a 3-1 loss to Santa Margarita (CA).

The Ice Bruins finished second in Pool C with a 2-1-0 record. They defeated Desert Vista Thunder (AZ) 4-0 Friday and East Lake (FL) 6-2 Saturday. They opened the tournament with a rocky start, losing to Christian Brothers College HS (MO) 14-1.

Matt Isbell led the Ice Bruins with four goals in the tournament. Tucker Day had a team-high five assists.

Goaltender Daniel Falls’ stats are skewed due to the one poor game against Christian Brothers. He finished with a save percentage of 84.8% over the four games.

Santa Margarita will play Regis Jesuit (CO) for the championship today at 10:30 a.m.
