Here are our picks for Defensive Player of the Week in our Williamson County coverage area.

5. Josh Howard, linebacker, Ensworth

Howard’s been on this list before, and came up big again in Friday’s 42-6 win over Trezevant. The junior had seven tackles in a game in which Ensworth allowed just 141 total yards. Howard has posted highlights from that game on his Hudl page, which you may see here.

4. Oliver Hunter, defensive lineman, Grace Christian Academy

Amor, GCA Meet Their Match in Playoff Quarterfinals

Grace Christian picked up a 27-7 win over McEwen, thanks to a great evening from Hunter. The senior had five tackles, including three for loss and two sacks, as McEwen managed just 159 total yards. Hunter has not posted Friday’s highlights yet, but you may see his Hudl page with some of his other big plays here.

3. Conner Mitchell, defensive back, Battle Ground Academy

Another repeat honoree in this spot, Mitchell helped BGA post a 28-0 shutout of Evangelical Christian School on Friday. Mitchell racked up 5 1/2 tackles, including one for loss, and an interception. The senior is starting to get some recruiting attention from smaller schools, and you can see why after viewing Hudl highlights of his senior season here.

2. Jordan McCoy, defensive lineman, Brentwood Academy

Brentwood Academy is off to a 5-0 start thanks to excellent work on both sides of the ball. In Friday’s 50-14 rout of Knoxville Catholic, defensive lineman Jordan McCoy took his turn as the team’s latest star. McCoy had two solo tackles, an assist, a tackle for minus-5 yards and an interception that he returned for 11 yards. McCoy posted highlights of that game to his Hudl page, and you may see them here.

1. Tristan Mann, linebacker, Fairview

McNeil, James Run for Big Nights in Week 11

It wasn’t necessarily a stunner to see Fairview beat previously-undefeated Greenbrier on Friday. However, the 49-0 score by which the Yellowjackets did it–and at Greenbrier, no less–sure was. Mann had a big hand in that with his 14 tackles, as he makes this list for the second week in a row. He hasn’t posted his highlights from Friday yet, but you may see more footage from his career at his Hudl page here.
