Bryce Denton Leads Ravenwood to 15-3 Thrashing of Ensworth

The Raptors put up a crooked number and then some in the top of the third. Ravenwood scored nine in the inning, highlighted by Bryce Denton’s display of the longball. Denton led off the inning with a home run to left and in his second at bat of the inning, Denton launched another one over the left field wall.

Denton’s third hit came an inning later on an RBI double to center field. He finished with three hits and four RBI’s.

The Raptors are back .500 at 12-12, they start a three game series with Dickson County on Monday.

Spring Hill Routes Northeast

Spring Hill scored three runs in four different innings for the 14-3 win over Northeast High School.

The Raiders got another big day from Darien Prewett who went 4 for 4 with 3 runs batted in, the most exciting of which came on his RBI triple in the top of the first.

Josh Frantz also had a good day at the plate. He singled twice and collected 4 RBI’s in the process.

Brandon Thomas went all six innings on the hill and struck out seven Northeast batters.

Summit Drops Close One to Columbia

The Spartans got three runs in the top of the third to take a 4-2 lead but surrendered four in the bottom frame and were never able to get even again, despite out-hitting Columbia 11 to 9.

Three Summit hitters did double in the contest. Wade Lopiccolo, Will Dalton and Jordan Kelly all hit two-baggers but their efforts weren’t enough as Summit falls to 17-9.

They start their final three game series of the season when they travel  to Centennial on Monday.

Brentwood Academy Drops Back to Back Close Ones

After falling in a shootout last night 9-8, Brentwood Academy took another loss on a nail biter in the form of a 5-3 defeat to Baylor High School.

The Eagles got on the board first when Ryan Victory hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first. Baylor would answer with a 3-run bottom of the second.

The score would stay 3-1 until the top of the sixth when Baylor added to more runs to extend their lead to 5-1.

Sam Scruggs drew a bases loaded walk for the second run of the bottom of the sixth to pull the Eagles within two but that would be as close as they would get.

Brentwood Academy did put together a threat in the last inning with two singles but Jonathan Grainger grounded out to second base to end the game.

The loss means that BA drops to 7-12-2 on the year. They will travel to the Campus of WKU in Bowling Green, Kentucky to face St. Xavier a school out of Louisville, Kentucky, next week.

CPA Loses Heartbreaker

A Chad Sewell single in the bottom of the seventh gave the Davidson Academy Bears a walk-off win over CPA by a final of 8-7.

The loss drops CPA’s record to 16-9. Their next game is against Giles County on Monday.

Franklin Gets Revenge on Blackman

After losing to them a week ago, the Rebels defeated Blackman in a shootout of 8-7. Franklin has a big series coming up with Brentwood starting on Monday.
