HS Baseball Recap: Summit Win on Bunt

Brentwood 2 Franklin 0

The Bruins got good outings from Will Gaddis and  David Ferguson and were gifted a run in the top of the fourth. Right when Franklin was about to get out of the inning on a ground ball to short, the first baseman dropped the throw leading to a second Bruin run.

Franklin’s best chance came in the bottom of the third. With runners at second and third and two outs, Logan Jarvis hit a hot shot back up the middle. It was knocked down by the pitcher allowing the shortstop to gather it and get Jarvis just in time at first to end the inning.

Brentwood improves to 21-2. Game two is tomorrow at Brentwood.

Brentwood Academy 10 Ensworth 0

Down near the bottom of the line-up Cole Marciniak went 2 for 4 with 1 RbI and 1 run scored.  Five Eagles had RBI’s in the game as they picked up the easy win over Ensworth.

Brentwood Academy improve to 8-12-2 and will play St. X of Louisville on Wednesday at WKU.

BGA 9 Zion 1

The Wildcats scored 8 of their 9 runs in the first two innings. Grant Drury was 2 for 2 at the dish with a double and 2 runs batted in.

BGA is now 16-11 and will play Zion Christian again tomorrow at 4:30 at Zion Christian.

Summit 8 Centennial 7

Summit defeated Centennial in a thriller. Down 7-6 in the last inning, the Spartans got a triple from Jordan Kelly, who got 1 of his 4 RBI’s to tie the game at 7. Kelly would come around and score the game winning run on a 2-out bunt by Cody Campbell.

The Spartans improve to 18-8 and host Centennial tomorrow at 6:30.

Spring Hill 10 Page 5

The Raiders had a big 5th inning as six players scored in the frame. Darien Prewitt went 2 for 4 with 4 runs batted in and also scored 2 runs.

Zach King went six and a third for the win. Spring Hill is now 18-10 and 7-2 in the district.

Lavergne 12 Independence 4

Indy continues to struggle as they drop a 12-4 game to LaVergne. The Eagles did get two doubles from Adam Martin and Cameron Carroll.

Indpendence falls to 8-19 on the season.

CPA 10 Giles 0

The Lions improve to 17-9 with their win tonight. They play Giles again tomorrow.
