Need to get around downtown Franklin during the big festival this weekend? Here’s how Franklin Road is going to work.

The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at The Park at Harlinsdale. The family-friendly event will have a diverse mix of music; food and merchant vendors; and a children’s entertainment stage and play area.

Festival organizers have worked with the Franklin Police Department and traffic engineers to create the best traffic flow possible, while leaving residential and business access open.

During both days of the festival:

  • Southbound traffic will flow from Harpeth Industrial Court to First Avenue;
  • Pedestrians, bicycles, and festival shuttle service will use the northbound lane;
  • Two-way traffic flow will remain from Harpeth Industrial Court to Mack Hatcher;
  • The roadway will open to regular travel patterns Sunday night at approximately 10 p.m.

Franklin police officers will direct traffic along Franklin Road and will assist residents who need to exit or enter their driveways or affected streets.

Uber and Lyft are just two of the options for those who don’t want to park in the middle of the festival. Those attending can coordinate their rides, with the pickup and drop off point at The Factory at Liberty Hall.

Parking in downtown is also an option through the legal street parking and Franklin’s two parking garages. Cart rides will be available on a limited basis. Pedestrian lanes are marked on the parking map.

Want to forget cars altogether? Festival goers can also kayak or canoe via the Harpeth River.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on both days and is anticipated to attract up to 12,000 residents and visitors per day. For information on the festival, visit PilgrimageFestival.com.
