Nashville Hot Chicken Favorite Moves Closer to Williamson County

Hattie B's

Hot Chicken favorite Hattie B’s is expanding and, although they’re not quite moving into Williamson County, their soon-to-be 8th Avenue location in Nashville is very convenient for Brentwood residents.

Hattie B’s will soon occupy the former The Hook restaurant at 2222 8th Ave South in the Melrose neighborhood, reports Eater Nashville.

“We started to read the writing on the wall in regards to the Germantown spot. It was going to be our first ground-up new construction build, and we realized we had bitten off a little more than we could chew. Construction costs were just out of whack, it just wasn’t going to work. After that we weren’t actively looking for anything, but soon after we read about The Hook closing. We had always thought it was a cool building and a great location, so we reached out and let them know that we were interested if there was an opportunity. And after a number of conversations with [Reed Hospitality Group], here we are,” Nick Bishop Jr. told Eater Nashville.

Parking will be a challenge at this location but Hattie B’s says they will be working to find a solution. When the project is renovated, it will seat 85 inside with additional seating on the patio for 45, making it the same size as their Charlotte Avenue location.

The latest Hattie B’s location is set to open sometime this summer.

Although Hattie B’s locations are in Nashville, Hattie B’s has a Williamson County connection. Hattie B’s was formed by a father-son team, Nick Bishop Sr and Nick Bishop Jr. After retiring, Bishop Sr opened Bishop’s Meat and Three in Franklin. Nick worked in the family restaurant and one thing led to another and in 2012, they opened their first Hattie B’s in Midtown Nashville.
