Home Builders Association of TN Installs Jimmy Franks as President

Williamson County resident Jimmy Franks was installed as the 2019 President of the Home Builders Association of Tennessee (HBAT) at the organization’s annual dinner last month. He follows Mack Andrews, owner of Mack Andrews Homes in Germantown, Tenn., as president.

At the dinner, Ethan Collier from the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga was installed as Vice President/Treasurer. He is the President and CEO of Collier Construction. James Reid from the West Tennessee Homebuilders Association was installed as Vice President/Secretary. He is the President of Memphis-based Reid Homes Inc.

Franks, a third-generation custom home builder, is the owner and President of Tennessee Valley Homes. He previously served as Vice President & Treasurer and Budget Finance Chairman for HBAT. He has also served as President of the Home Builders Association of Middle Tennessee. Currently, he serves on the City of Franklin Planning Commission and City of Franklin Housing Commission.

“I am humbled to serve the home builders across the state of Tennessee,” said Franks. “I truly believe that the home building industry is a core driver in the economy of our state and our country. I plan to work diligently to grow our association and work to improve our legislative program to ensure our industry remains strong.”

At the ceremony, he was inducted by Franklin, Tenn. Mayor, Dr. Ken Moore. Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson and State Representative Glen Casada were also in attendance.

Franks is married to his high school sweetheart, Rhonda Givens Franks, a graduate of the O’More School of Design. Lifetime residents of Franklin, they have three children and three grandchildren. Franks learned the building industry from his father and grandfather and continues to pass that legacy along with his son, Chris, also now in the building business.
