Two WCS students and one graduate are receiving national recognition for excellence in media production.

Page High graduate Adam Plager is nominated for Best Writer at the 2019 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) National Student Production Awards.

“Adam went above and beyond for every project that he worked on, so it honestly didn’t surprise me when he was nominated for his work on the Jr. Predators documentary,” said PHS TV/Film teacher Terry Flowers. “Time is typically what makes the difference between good and great. Adam took the time.”

From Franklin High, Will McAdams and Ivan Chen are nominees for Best Commercial.

“I’m thrilled for Will and Ivan,” said FHS TV/Film teacher Keri Thompson. “To be named a finalist is a huge honor. They always strive for their videos to be of the highest quality, and we are excited to see if they win in November.”

Nominees were selected from high school student entries across the country in 24 programming and craft categories.

The winners will be broadcast November 1 on a livestream hosted by the NATAS. The livestream can be viewed on the National Student Production Awards page of the NATAS website.
