Andy MarshallIn addition to the announcement of King and Queen, the cocktail party at Barry and Jackie Alexander’s Classic Car Collection recognized the multitude of sponsors and table hosts for this year’s Heritage Ball. Presenting sponsor and chair of the ball, Emily Magid was recognized, along with patron sponsors Barry and Jackie Alexander, Grogan Jewelers by Lon, Vanderbilt Health and all the premium and major sponsors.

David Garrett, president of the Heritage Foundation, recognized the Patron Award winners by saying, “When you recount Jan and Andy Marshall’s service to the Heritage Foundation, you must mention their service on the Downtown Franklin Association board, Andy’s long tenure on the Heritage Foundation board and his continued service on the Franklin Theatre Board of Governors. Their service as ball chairs and presenting sponsor and their support of so many community organizations speaks to why they deserve this esteemed award.”

This year’s Heritage Ball theme is tie-dye, and the longstanding tradition of this glamorous evening in Franklin will continue with fun twists of color and design elements by Magid and the design team including Jo Ellen McDowell, the executive director of events for The Heritage Foundation; Kaylen Carrick, manager of Heritage Ball and special events; Jill Cole, owner of Southern Events and Steven McClellan, floral designer and owner of Garden Delights Fine Florist. Joni Cole of Gray’s on Main is creating the Ball’s signature cocktails, the Drink Meand the Caterpillar, which are both made with pisco, a spirit from ancient Peruvian culture made from quebranta grapes that will highlight this year’s colorful theme.

Each year, more than 700 guests gather to support and celebrate the work of the organization and to raise funds for future projects. In addition to a seated dinner, the event will also feature a silent and live auction including items such as Baja Peninsula Stay, St. Croix Vacation and Jason Isbell tickets. The auction is now live online, and bids can be made at http://Heritage18.gesture.com.
