Have You Had A Pedego?

No not pedicure, Pedego! Just opening on the proposed hotel property at 104 East Main St. in Franklin, Pedego provides electric bicycles for purchase or rent. We stopped in and got the low down from Kem Harris as she was busy setting up the store and unpacking bikes.

WS: When is your Grand Opening?

PEDEGO: Grand Opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th starting at noon.  There will be a ribbon cutting at 12:30, free test rides with the first 50 people age 16 and over receiving a free sports watch; 2 free group rides-1 all girls ride led by Mrs. TN America and the 2nd one will be for both guys and girls-these rides are first come first served; door prizes; entertainment by DonB! who is a world champion circus performer with Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus; refreshments will include hotdogs.

WS: What is a Pedego?

PEDEGO: A Pedego is a world class electric bike that can go 20 m.p.h. Pedegos are sold in 40 countries and currently comes in six different models and a wide variety of fun colors. A Pedego electric bike is just like a regular bike, complete with seven gears, but has one stellar upgrade:  with the turn of a throttle, the bike will spring to full electric life with no need to pedal!  For those who like to pedal or prefer a more natural riding experience, five levels of pedal assist can be an option.  When riding a Pedego, you can pedal or not.  It is up to you.  Pedego electric bikes are completely green and are so fun to ride it can be addictive.  Pedego electric bikes are used for transportation, recreation, and health and fitness.

It is no secret that a Pedego electric bike can transform a person’s life for whatever reason. Kem Harris, Franklin Pedego.

WS: How does rental work , pricing, etc.?

PEDEGO: Pedego Franklin does both sales and rentals of Pedego electric bikes with plans of doing both guided and self guided tours of Historic Downtown Franklin and surrounding areas.  They will also be leading group rides on the Natchez Trace and through Leiper’s Fork.  Bikes can be rented by the day or by the hour. The cost of a single bike is $14 hour or $50 all day.  A tandem can be rented for $25 hour or $100 all day.  Kiddie trailers and baby seats are also available for rent for those with smaller children.  We also offer a “Make it a Date” package for $79 that includes the rental of two bikes for two hours and includes a picnic lunch from a local restaurant.  Reservations are not required for rentals, but are recommended.

Kem did tell Williamson Source that while she loves her location, that may change once hotel construction begins.
