Harley-Davidson Drops Proposed Mallory Lane Store

There will be no overbearing motorcycle noise pollution for the residents of the Willowick community in Franklin. The contract on the proposed site for a Harley-Davidson store on Mallory Lane has been terminated, a spokesperson for Southeast Venture, the sellers for the property, reported Monday.

After hearing many protests from community members of the Willowick community, a subdivision quite close to the proposed site, and other nearby residents, the Brentwood City Commission had considered going back on their vote to allow the store in May, but by that time it was already too late for the commission to legally withdraw approval.

The Harley-Davidson corporation had until June 30 to move ahead with plans for the store, and they sent a letter of intent to Southeast Venture in order to terminate the sale.

Alternate locations for the store may be considered.
