Happy Halloween – Be Safe Everyone!

NEWS – Happy Halloween – Be Safe – Pumpkinfest is over but Trick-or-Treat is not!

Tonight all the little goblins will be on the roads so be safe and make sure you are extra aware as you make your drive home. Tonight is also the last chance for you to visit Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods in Spring Hill. Enjoy a quick scare from dark until 11 p.m. at 2133 Joe Brown Road. Admission is only $15.

Firefighters will be handing out candy and fire safety tips to fire station visitors this Halloween, so make sure you put your local fire station on your trick-or-treating route. They also ask that you review the “stop, drop, and roll” technique with your children. “Stop, drop and roll should be used when clothing catches fire,” said Franklin Fire and Life Safety Educator Jamie Melton. Halloween is an important time to review this technique because, against better judgment, many people still place candles with open flames on walkways and steps leading up to porches where children’s costumes can trail over them. Melton added, “A fourth step we teach children that parents may not be aware of is to cover their faces with their hands to prevent facial burns.”
Make sure if you celebrate tonight you do it responsibly. Police are still out in extra numbers to keep our children safe so remember not to drink and drive. Franklin Police Chief David Rahinsky said, “Protecting the children of our community is a top priority”.”
