“Hamilton” Star to Perform in Brentwood

Chris Lee, a lead in the Chicago production of the Tony-award winning musical, “Hamilton” and Nate Strasser, film composer, pianist and staff accompanist for the musical theater department at Belmont University will perform at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church’s ” A Night on Broadway” on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Lee, 21, is a senior in the Belmont University School of Music. “Hamilton,” a one-of-a-kind hip-hop musical about Founding Father and first Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton, debuted in 2015. Lee was cast as Marquis de Lafayette in the nate strasserfirst act of the musical and Thomas Jefferson in the second act.

Strasser has done extensive work as a studio musician, orchestrator, arranger, and composer. As an arranger, he has done music prep work for Dave Matthews and Seth MacFarlane  As a studio musician and pianist, he has worked with faculty from Belmont University and played piano on a number of film scores. Nate has recorded at the renowned Oceanway Studios and Warner Brothers Studios. Nate has also had the privilege of performing with Grammy-winning artists Riders in the Sky and Brent Mason. His recent composing films include:

  • Running the Code directed by Alan Manzo
  • Muskets directed by Amrish Ramnarine
  • Agua Dulce directed by Sasha Flamm
  • The Party directed by Derek Sepe
  • The Healing Tree directed by Frances E. Chang

This will be a thrilling night of musical theater selections from Broadway shows as well as compositions and improvisations by Lee and Strasser.

Admission to “A Night on Broadway” is donation-based. The suggested donation is $25 per adult or $50 for the family and $10 for college students. Free parking is available and childcare will be provided.
