Grumpy Fundraiser For Franklin Wrestlers

If you have lived in Williamson County for any period of time you have seen the owner of Grumpy’s Bailbonds. Leah Hulan makes no apologies for being one of the larger than life personalities or smartest women in business in Williamson County. Her story of both a business woman and as someone who gives back to the community is something admirable.

Born in Beech Grove and raised on a farm, Leah Hulan paid for college using an ROTC scholarship, then served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army as a Military Intel Officer. After the Army, Leah traded her combat boots for high heels, and won the title of Miss Tennessee in 1992. As Miss Tennessee, she went on to compete in both the Miss America and Miss USA pageants. Never forgetting where she came from and with a desire to help those in need back home, Leah returned to middle Tennessee and started Grumpy’s Bail Bonds.

I remember when I first saw her. Walking through Downtown Franklin to the Courthouse. Tan old school briefcase with mailbox letters glued to the side in caps that simply said : GRUMPY’S

Leah is much more than looks. She is a smart woman . A Mother. A wife. A woman who gives back. Recently, she decided that it would be a great idea to take her “When You Ring, We Spring” motto to a whole different level as owner of Arcadian Wrestling Association.

On Saturday, September 17th, Leah will bring her “Goddess of Wrestling” persona along with former WWE, TNA wrestler Chase Steven’s show, to Franklin High School. The goal: Raise money for the Rebels Wrestling team.

In  April, Arcadian Wrestling launched at MTSU, where Leah is a graduate. A night of superstars included former WWE stars Billy Gunn and Road Warrior Animal. RutherfordSource.com was there as MTSU Head Coach Rick Stockstill delighted a huge crowd at The Murph with a clothesline.

Since then Arcadian Wrestling has performed all over. They generally do 2 shows a month. The show is one of the best this wrestling fan has seen. And since, this one is for charity, and for the Rebels, I will be there again on  Saturday, September 17th with my “5 From 55 South” entourage. I have attended 2 local shows. I can tell you right now, it’s worth the money. $15 and $25 dollar tickets will get you ringside for some of the best independent wrestling in Tennessee.

The opportunity to see “The Goddess” Leah as she looks on from her throne and oversees the battles of her “warriors”, is different than anything, anyone, is doing. Professional wrestling fans will recognize “The Natural” Chase Stevens and Gangrel both formerly of TV fame. Liepers Forks’ own Legend ,Tracie Smothers will be on hand in his own annoying way. Up and comers Francisco Ciatso and Stormie Lee ( you gotta see “da family”)are also great.

Personally, I like Damien Wayne. He’s known as a “heel”, i.e. a “bad guy” and will be taking on former 90s Superstar and  WWE “The Brood” founder ,Gangrel, Saturday night. Wayne is a polished  wrestler, who , if you are a fan, you will watch and think : “How do I not know this guy?” . Gangrel , is well known internationally and is an icon of WWE wrestling when he and Edge and Christian hit the scene during the beginning of the “Attitude Era”.

WilliamsonSource.com looks forward to Saturday night September 17th and encourages everyone to come out and grab a great family fun night of professional wrestling and supporting FHS wrestling.
